I debated sharing this with you for awhile, because my intention is NOT to badmouth other work - but rather educate you on the importance in researching before investing your money.

So instead of quick OMG look at this! in an IG Story or Post Feed - I wanted to dedicate a Blog Post to it, because I think it needs an explanation from an educational stand point with thought out detail and discussion.

I want to first start by stating - I don’t know which Reno/Tahoe hairstylist did this work because that is neither here nor there to me. What IS important to me is to share that there IS a difference in the end result you get based on your Stylist’s investment in their continuing education and committed work in becoming a Specialist.

This client said that, “the Stylist is certified in NBR Extensions and posts pretty after photos of other people they do extensions on.” So this client decided to schedule an appointment and invested $2,000 into receiving Hair Extensions. She believed she was paying for 2 Rows of 22” custom colored, luxury hand tied hair quality extensions…and this is what she left the salon with…

Even an untrained eye can spot that overall this work isn’t detailed, intentional or clean. So I don’t think I need to go into an exhausted explanation or great lengths to point out the things that are glaring to me when I look at it like the folded wefts, the uncut string, the redness of her scalp, the blonde beads or the slew of other things my eye is drawn to.

When I was removing these extensions for this guest, beyond all the above mentioned NON standard NBR practices, I was quickly aware that she in fact did NOT get 2 Rows of 22”.

She got 1 Row of 22” and 1 Row of 18” - but thought she received, and PAID FOR 2 Rows of 22” Extensions!!!!

Now it’s not the guest’s fault that she chose that Artist to invest in, or to trust she would be given an honest & quality service. In fact, I feel for her tremendously. That is why I wanted to share her story with you and do what I can to educate on a couple very important key things to consider when looking for a hair transformation with NBR / Hand Tied Hair Extensions.

I did ask this guest these few questions that I’d like you to also consider when looking into NBR and a Stylist.

1) Does this Stylist post up close photos of their NBR Beadwork and what does it look like?

2) Do they post up close photos of their Stitching and is it clean and neat?

3) Does this person specialize in doing only NBR all day every day, or are they a generalist who is offering this service occasionally? (You know the old saying-Practice makes Perfect)

4) How much continuing education does your Artist invest in for their NBR / Hand Tied Hair Extension training?

This guest said looking back, that Stylist’s doesn’t post ANY photos of their Beadwork, Stitching, isn’t a Specialist and doesn’t continue their education with the NBR Method.

These are 4 very important questions to ask / look for when you are about to invest $$ into Extensions. If you are scrolling through their feed of pretty after photos and you are drawn to their work - but you don’t see any photos of the FOUNDATION of the method (how it’s installed) you 100% have the right to message that Artist and ask for photos of their most recent work before you book and spend money with them.

If they are hesitant to share that with you, or don’t have any photos - take that into consideration.

If it’s already posted all over their feed - or they are more then happy to send you pictures of their work that is something to consider as well!

As always, my hope is that you learned a few things about the researching process for Hand Tied Hair Extensions. I believe as an NBR Specialist it’s my duty not only to give you a quality service but to share with you how to navigate the process.

Oh and just so you aren’t left hanging - Here is that same guest’s results after spending the afternoon with me in The Studio getting a Rose Golde NBR Experience.
